By the end of this lesson, students will be able to:

[ ] Perform a safe, beginner-friendly gel removal process (soak-off) without damaging the nail plate.
[ ] Identify signs of nail damage from improper removal (peeling, thinning, sensitivity) and how to respond.
[ ] Create a simple “nail health repair plan” (services + at-home routine).
[ ] Communicate removal and aftercare expectations professionally to reduce client picking/peeling.

Removal is where nail health is protected

Beautiful gel means nothing if the removal damages the nail. Safe removal is a luxury standard.

1) The golden rule

Time is safer than force. If it isn’t soft, it isn’t ready.

2) Safe soak-off removal (beginner-safe)

Sanitize + assess nails (any breaks/irritation?).
Lightly file top coat to break the seal (do not file the nail plate).
Apply acetone wrap (cotton + foil) and wait recommended time.
Gently push off softened gel with a pusher (no digging).
Re-wrap stubborn areas (repeat wait).
Refine lightly with buffer only if needed (minimal).
Oil + moisturize and review aftercare.

3) What causes nail damage (and how to prevent it)

Peeling product: pulls layers of nail plate → teach “return for removal.”
Scraping: creates grooves/thinning → re-wrap instead.
Over-filing: sensitivity/weakness → correct grit + light pressure.

4) A simple nail health repair plan (2–3 weeks)

Service option: structured manicure or gentle polish while nails recover.
At-home routine:oil nightly (cuticle + nail plate)
hand cream after washing
gloves for cleaning
no picking/peeling

5) Luxury standard

Gentle, patient removal
Comfort checks (“Any sensitivity?”)
Clear aftercare and rebooking plan

Instructor demonstrates:

Guided practice flow (15–25 min)

Students practice top coat break + wrap technique on 5 nails.
Students remove from 1 hand using the checklist.
Instructor checks nail plate condition and technique pressure.
