Beginner

By the end of this lesson, students will be able to:

  • [ ]  Explain how pricing connects to profit, time, supplies, and skill level.

  • [ ]  Create a beginner pricing structure (base price + length + design + repairs).

  • [ ]  Write clear policies (late/cancel/no-show, deposits, redo/fix rules) that protect boundaries.

  • [ ]  Deliver luxury policy communication scripts that feel firm but professional.

Luxury pricing is clarity + confidence

Premium clients pay for:

consistent results

clean standards

calm experience

professional boundaries

1) Pricing basics (simple formula)

Price = time + supplies + overhead + profit

Beginner-friendly approach:

Start with a base service price (what you need to make per hour).

Add add-ons for what increases time/skill.

2) A simple menu structure

Base service (short length, solid color)

Length add-on (medium/long/x-long)

Shape add-on (extra shaping complexity)

Repair add-on (per nail)

Design tier (simple/medium/advanced)

3) Policies that protect you (must-haves)

Late policy: what happens at 10/15 minutes.

Cancellation policy: minimum notice.

No-show policy: fees and rebooking rules.

Deposit policy: when required and when it transfers/forfeits.

Redo/fix policy: what is included and what is not.

4) Scripts (luxury tone)

Late: “I can still take you, but we’ll need to adjust the service to stay on schedule.”

Cancel: “Per my policy, cancellations under  hours are charged .”

Fix: “I’m happy to take care of you. Fixes are complimentary within ___ days if it’s a service issue.”

5) Luxury standard

Luxury policies are:

written clearly

communicated before booking

enforced consistently

<li><p class="font_8">Writing a late/cancel/no-show policy set.</p></li>
<li><p class="font_8">Saying policies out loud in a luxury tone.</p></li>
</ol>
<p class="font_8">What to watch for:</p>
<ul class="font_8">
<li><p class="font_8">Short, calm scripts.</p></li>
<li><p class="font_8">No over-explaining.</p></li>
<li><p class="font_8">Consistent enforcement.</p></li>
</ul>

Instructor coaches students through the skill.

Guided practice flow (15–25 min)

  1. Students set a base price for one service.

  2. Students create 4 add-ons (length, design, repair, upgrade).

  3. Students draft 3 key policies.

  4. Role-play policy scripts with a partner.

Coach’s checklist:

  • [ ]  Base price exists and makes sense for time

  • [ ]  Add-ons cover extra time/skill

  • [ ]  Policies are clear and specific

  • [ ]  Scripts sound professional and calm

Ask AI to Draft Policies

  • Draft a late/cancel/no-show policy in a luxury tone.

Ask AI to Price

  • Help me price a service if I want to earn $/hour and my average service takes  minutes.
