Beginner

By the end of this lesson, students will be able to:

  • [ ]  Demonstrate a sanitation workflow from arrival → service → reset that meets professional standards.

  • [ ]  Use a “sanitation checklist” to avoid missing steps during busy days.

  • [ ]  Identify common compliance mistakes (double-dipping, dirty implements, contaminated product).

  • [ ]  Explain what inspectors typically look for and how to stay ready daily.

Readiness is a daily habit

Being “inspection ready” means your setup is always clean—not just on test day.

1) The 3 zones

  • Clean zone: disinfected tools/supplies only

  • Dirty zone: used implements awaiting cleaning/disinfection

  • Client zone: client hands, used items, surfaces touched during service

2) Sanitation checklist (quick)

Before service:

  • sanitize hands

  • clean/disinfect station

  • set out disinfected tools

  • set out single-use items

During service:

  • no double-dip

  • keep used items separated

  • wipe surfaces as needed

After service:

  • dispose single-use items

  • clean + disinfect tools correctly

  • disinfect station + chair + lamp handle

  • replace liners/towels as needed

3) Luxury standard

Luxury sanitation looks like:

  • calm, organized station

  • clearly separated clean/dirty

  • consistent routine every client
