Luxury encapsulation = protection + polish
Encapsulation is what turns art into a true luxury finish. It protects the design, increases wear time, and creates that “glass-like” look.
1) When to encapsulate (and when not to)
Encapsulate when:
you have layered art, glitter, flakes, foils, decals, or texture you want to smooth out
you want long-wear durability
you want a flat, glass finish
Avoid encapsulating:
if the base structure is already too thick (refine first)
if the nail is too short/thin for extra layers (choose simpler art)
2) The master workflow (simple)
Assess structure: is apex correct before art?
Place art intentionally (avoid sidewalls/cuticle margin).
Build a clear layer to cover the art.
Cure fully.
Refine and rebalance structure (sidewalls → surface → cuticle margin).
Finish file/buff and apply top coat for a glass finish.
3) Thickness control (the master difference)
Luxury encapsulation is not “extra product.” It’s controlled product.

4) Common problems + quick fixes
Air pockets: art not pressed/secured; rebuild and seal edges
Bulk: too much clear product; refine shoulders and surface
