By the end of this lesson, students will be able to:

  • [ ]  Complete a final assessment using a master rubric (safety, structure, retention, finish, professionalism).

  • [ ]  Demonstrate a full luxury service workflow from consultation through finish with consistency across all nails.

  • [ ]  Self-assess honestly and create a 14-day improvement plan based on rubric results.

  • [ ]  Prepare a submission package (photos + notes) that documents mastery and readiness for real clients.

The final assessment is proof of mastery

Mastery means you can deliver a luxury result consistently under a standard. This final assessment evaluates:

safety (non-negotiable)

structure and balance

retention-focused application

finish quality

professionalism and communication

1) Safety pass/fail (must pass)

Fail if:

product touches skin repeatedly (flooding)

redness or pain occurs from over-filing

sanitation is unsafe

client reports burning not corrected immediately

2) Rubric scoring (1–5)

Score these categories:

consultation + expectation setting

prep quality (clean cuticle area, dust control)

structure (apex, sidewalls, thickness zones)

retention (clean margins, sealed edges)

finish (smooth surface, symmetry, shine)

professionalism (calm pacing, communication)

3) Consistency requirement

Mastery is:

no “problem nails”

minimum 8/10 nails meet the standard

average score ≥ 4/5 across categories

4) How to improve (feedback loop)
